What can leaders learn from teachers?

Just this past Thursday, I reflected on being named a 2016 Queen’s Young Leader. I talked about how much more comfortable I am with being associated with the words “teacher” and “educator” than I am with “leader”. For anyone who feels the same way, here’s a handy research blog by Eugenie Teasley that explores what leaders can learn from teachers. Building Bridges, for example, can take lots of notes from Eugenie’s interviews with Rashid and Diarmuid, who make a compelling case for building space for failure within an organisation into its very DNA, even when working with very vulnerable or very young children.

(One of our tutors for the 2015 QYL course, Eugenie is the founder of Spark and Mettle, a UK-based charity that uses coaching, tech and collaborative events to build character strengths, soft skills and networks in young people.)
